  • The Finance Committee of the Town Trust meets quarterly to review its income, investments, balances and to discuss any grants to be made.

A draft budget is prepared annually and agreed by the Trust, based on past experience and known forward plans plus a budgeted reserve.

The investment policy is low risk, diversified and seeking a balance of capital growth with income. Trust income comes from investments, grazing rents and land grants, “Common goings” and market tolls.

Grants to be made, based on incoming requests, are recommended by this committee and agreed at full Trust meetings.
